New Blog Post Over at “Gone City” is a Must Read

My friend and much admired photographer John Sevigny has recently published an intriquing post over at his highly acclaimed blog “Gone City”. Its actually a question and answer piece that marks his tenth anniversary as a photographer. John recently invited some trusted friends and followers (yours truly included) to submit some questions that we would like to see answered in an online interview format. I actually submitted several.

I have been following Johns work for several years. His photos fall somewhere in between social documentary and fine art. Much of his work is gritty and hard-core, with a strong influence by Old Master paintings. He has photographed all over the world and in particular some of the most dangerous places in Mexico.

The interview is broken into two parts and can be found here:

  • I have known John for some years, now, and have to say that he is a remarkable photographer and a very engaging human being. Remarkable in the sense that his photographs tell their own stories, without interpretation or ‘fluff’. Thank you, JS, for 10 years of work and art. You are much appreciated.
