NightLandScapes

Capturing what’s in front of the lens is easy. I try to photograph the implied and the unseen. In portraiture I rely heavily visual metaphor and clues. As Duane Michals says; “A good photograph should whisper not scream”. Art is in the whispers. The NightLandScape is something that I find fascinating. The use of negative space in imagery, in particularly photographic imagery can be very powerful, but it can also be cliche and conventional. These are some experiments I have been doing at night in both film and digital.
